Established in 1972 by experienced upholsterer David George Smith, D G Smith Upholstery the company was originally based in Leicester, but moved to Norfolk in 1987 where it has been ever since.

Now based on the North Norfolk Coast we offer customers across the Norfolk region the very best in upholstery services and fine modern and traditional furniture from mainly British manufacturers, including reclining furniture and sofa beds.

We take great pride in offering a modern and traditional upholstery service, with everything made to measure and bespoke fit by our craftsmen using their hands as well as a few machines. It guarantees all our customers unrivalled quality, superbly re-covered, re-upholstered or made items that fit to perfection and make everything from stylish modern furniture to traditional antiques look absolutely beautiful.

Over the years we have also developed our service to include retail using mainly top brand British manufacturers including Celebrity, Sherborne, Alstons, Sweet Dreams and Global Furniture Alliance. We keep a wide range of luxurious recliner chairs and sofa's, manual and electric operated with matching fixed furniture. These fantastic chairs come with a range of different sizes and range from a simple relaxing recliner through to supportive lift and tilt recliner chairs with optional added extras including massage and/or heated lumbar support systems built in, ideal for arthritis or chronic back pain sufferers. We also offer a wide range of, sofa beds, swivel chairs, adjustable beds and a whole lot more on display in our showroom with easy wheel chair access and you will always find an experienced member of the team in the store to talk to you about any questions or enquiries you may have.   Went in to look at Riser Recliner chairs for my disabled wife. The lady in the store was very helpful with suggestions about the different styles, makers, and colours. A great level of personal care without the heavy sell, we were so pleased we went ahead and brought one. Would definitely recommend this store to anyone.

  Neil and Steve at DG Smith Upholstery have been brilliant. Neil did a really thorough initial visit and took time to go through ideas and options for our caravan fixed seating. He provided a rough estimate of when they could install the seating and met our expectations. Steve did the installation and was very friendly and professional. Couldn’t recommend these enough!
